Large Kantha Quilt - LK419
Hand-sewn Kantha Quilt is crafted by Artisans in Bengal, India. The vintage fabric comes from misprints, selvedge or even damaged fabrics that were rejected due to imperfections. The artisan's skills of reviving and recycling these imperfections is what turns each piece into a unique and one-of-a-kind collectors piece. The vintage sari material is stitched together with colorful thread to create these beautiful, softly layered cotton throws.
Our vibrant sari blankets are reversible. When you need a fresh look, just flip them over. (Image shown is of blanket folded over to show the design on both sides)
Each throw is one-of-a-kind so when it's gone, it's gone!
WASHING CARE: The blankets machine wash very well. We recommend washing separate in cold water and dry on low.
- approximately 79 x 79"
- multiple quilted layers of reclaimed sari material make this Kantha throw thicker and warmer
- any small imperfections to the vintage saris (such as holes or snags) are carefully patched with matching fabric bringing out its true handmade nature
Meet the Artisans
Each Sari Blanket sold benefits the men and women in one of the most disadvantaged areas of the world. We help create a better livelihood for both them and the families who rely on them. These people have been given the chance to rise above their circumstances and take back their humanity.
Our products will have slight variations in design and size, this is a natural occurrence in handmade goods and one of the many reasons we love them so.
No two designs will be exactly alike, giving you a lasting one-of-a-kind product to treasure for years to come.
